One aspect of Sunnybrae that new residents find hard to adjust to is the discipline of work which is new to many of them, while for others it is something they have given up due to their lifestyle while living their former life.  However, the ability to work and hold down a job is an essential part of everyday life and part of the role of the support workers at Teen Challenge is to acclmatize the men to work schedules while at the same time enhancing both their own environment and becoming involved in the numerous activities of the Teen Challenge program.  This includes the Make it Happen team formed as a company in 2007 to provide residents with work experience and develop work place skills while assisting in the overall maintenance and development of the complex.

Supervision and instruction by trained and competent staff is given on all aspects of work experience; also, in maintaining garden contracts and the design, construction, delivery and erection of garden sheds and summerhouses.  Profits are ploughed into Teen Challenge North East Scotland and used for the development of residents for things not covered by local authority funding; such as fuel cots and start up costs for residents moving on to phase four.
